Welcome
Welcome to my Blogs Page. The purpose of this website is to publicise and exchange information with others undertaking family history research into the names HOPKIN, HOPKINS, CRAMP, CRAMPE, BRAMLEY and BRAMLY.
I have so far added all my listings for GRO Births, Marriages and Deaths to the website which can be freely searched via this website or the Guild of One Name Studies website. These can be found at the bottom of the page under “Links”
The HOPKINS Roll of Honour at present contains all the Civilian War Dead for this name and I hope eventually to have the same for CRAMP(E) and BRAML(E)Y as well a complete Roll of Honour listing all the WWI and WWII War Dead for all names being researched.
For ease of finding I have divided each of the surnames into Counties. In the case of our own HOPKINS family Mick’s father moved from Pontllanfraith, Monmouthshire to Lewisham, Kent but we have traced his family back to Allensmore in Herefordshire. This family is therefore filed under Herefordshire in the category ‘County Families’. I am only giving brief extracts in County Families, so please e-mail me for full information. At the top of each family group you will see the name of the group into which I have put the family and a number which corresponds to the Chart No which can be found under the category for Charts. If I have any photos I will also add + Photo Gallery. I am gradually putting a random selection of my various family groups into County Families with their corresponding charts and any photos I have in the Photo Gallery. I have thousands of HOPKIN(S) in my main database and it will not be possible to put everything onto the website so if your family is not there do please e-mail me and I will make sure it is added to the website.
At the top of the page you will see Contacts Register. This is to enable you to make contact with others researching your family name in the areas where your ancestors lived. If you do add your details to the Contacts Register I will give you a mention in County Families.
The search box at the top of the page will enable you to do a quick a search to see whether there is anything anywhere on your family e.g. if your CRAMP(E) family came from Bodiam, Sussex a quick search for Bodiam will show you there is an article mentioning Bodiam in Cramp, Crampe Families which can be found by clicking on the + sign beside Cramp, Crampe One Name Study and selecting the article Cramp, Crampe Families.
I realise you will obviously want to note down details of your family but if you do put any of my information onto the internet please attribute the information to me. If you have a website why not add a link to my website?
If you have enjoyed this website and found it useful for your research you may like to make a donation towards the upkeep of this website and the various one name studies.
